Meaning of Business Communication and its Types

Business Communication Meaning and Types of Writing

Communication is the process by which two or more people exchange ideas and concepts with one another. Business communication refers to communication that is related to work. Business communication includes any communication related to legislation, administration, finance, trade, management, and so on.

Based on its purpose, the large field of business writing can be divided into four categories, such as -

Informational business writing

Informational business writing gives you the information you need to finish a task.

Let's look at an example to illustrate the goal of such communication. The October sales report was sent to me by my manager. It featured information on client analysis, profit margins, and sales overheads. It is informative business writing because the sales report gave significant information for me to comprehend the sales operations for October. Business reports, a firm's financials, meeting minutes, and other areas benefit from informational writing.

Instructional business writing

The goal of instructional business writing is to direct the reader through the process of completing a task.

Let's look at an example to illustrate the objective of such communication — My business makes and sells washing machines. My company includes an instruction manual in each washing machine packaging because it is an electrical product and not everyone knows how to use it. It is instructional business writing because my company provides the necessary instructions to operate the item. User manuals, memoranda, and other forms of instructional writing are examples.

Persuasive business writing

The goal of persuasive writing is to persuade the reader of the sender's intentions and views. It delivers critical information in order to persuade them that a particular product, service, company, or connection is more valuable.

Let me give you an example of the goal of such communication: I sent a message to my consumers explaining how my company's services could assist them. It is persuasive business writing since I demonstrated the value of my company's services to my consumers and persuaded them to purchase. Proposals, sales emails, and other areas that use Persuasive Writing.

Bhakti Movement NCERT Class 12 History The Bhakti movement was an effort to achieve salvation and emancipation by devotion to God. In Hindi, the word bhakti refers to fervent devotion to God. This movement, which stressed a single-minded, ardent devotion to God, is seen as the most characteristic act of religious progress during the Middle Ages. In the 12th and 13th centuries, Kabir Das was a key figure in the Bhakti Movement. As a result of the movement, Kabir Das' poems and religious writings attained widespread fame.
