Common Human Diseases Caused By Helminths- Online Class 12 Biology

Common Human Diseases Caused By Helminths- Online Class 12 Biology ASCARIASIS :  This disease is caused by roundworm  Ascarislumbricoides . Infections have no symptoms in more than 85% of cases, especially if the number of worms is small. Symptoms increase with the number of worms present and may include shortness of breath and fever at the beginning of the disease. These may be followed by symptoms of abdominal swelling, abdominal pain, and diarrhoea.  Children who are 3 to 8 years old are most likely to be infected because of their contact with soil while playing in the soil; hence they suffer from poor weight gain, malnutrition, and learning problems. The source of infection  is from objects which have been contaminated with faecal matter containing eggs. Ingestion of infective eggs from soil contaminated with human faeces or contaminated vegetables and water is the primary route of infection. Infectious eggs may occur on other objects such as hands, money, and furniture.

Online Class 12 Chemistry Notes- Unit 1- Band Theory of Solids

Online Class 12 Chemistry Notes- Unit 1- Band Theory of Solids Band Theory of Solids:    A quantum mechanical model of electrons in solids that predicts certain restricted ranges or the bands, for the energies of these electrons is called as Band Theory of Solids. It is also called as energy band theory of solids. The behavior of an electron in a solid (and hence its energy) is related to the behavior of all other particles around it. This is in direct contrast to the behavior of an electron in free space where it may have any specified energy. The ranges of allowed energies of electrons in a solid are called allowed bands. Certain ranges of energies between two such allowed bands are called forbidden bands—i.e., electrons within the solid may not possess these energies. The band theory accounts for many of the electrical and thermal properties of solids and forms the basis of the technology of solid-state electronics. A useful way to visualize the difference between conductor

Some Natural Phenomena Chapter 14 - 8th Class Science

Some Natural Phenomena Chapter 14 - 8th Class  Science  Lightning occurs because of the transfer of massive electric charges. Natural disasters sometimes cause tremendous damage to life and property. Electric charges All matter is made up of atoms. Every atom is made up of positively charges particles, negatively charges particles and neutral particles. The positively charged particles of an atom are called protons. The negatively charged particles are called electrons. The atom as a whole consists of an equal number of positive and negative charges and it is called electrically neutral. If the charge is not balanced, the atom will have a positive charge if protons are more in number than electrons and negative charge if electrons are more in number than protons. Objects with the same type of charge brought together will repel each other. Objects with opposite charge will attract each other. From above we can conclude easily that like charges repel each other and u

Unit 2 – Nature of Light - Class 11 Chemistry Online Notes Wave Nature of Light The wave properties of light (electromagnetic radiation) are described in terms of the following parameters: Frequency (ν, spell as mu, in Greek):  The frequency of a wave is the number of cycles it undergoes per second. Its unit is 1/second (sec -1 , it is also called  Hertz, Hz ) Wavelength (λ, termed as lambda in Greek):  The wavelength is the distance between any points on the wave and the corresponding point on the next crest or trough of the wave. It is the distance the wave travels during one cycle. The units of wavelength are meters (m), for very short distances it is nanometers (10 -9 m), picometers (10 -12 m) or non-SI unit is Angstrom (Å, 10 -10 m).
