CS Executive online Classes : Definition of a Public Company :- As per provision contained in Section 2(71) of the Companies Act, 2013 A Public Company Means a Company which is;
  1. Not a private company;
  2. Has a minimum paid-up share capital of Rs. 5.00 Lakh or such a higher paid-up capital as may be prescribed.
Further Section 3(1)(a) of the Companies Act, 2013 says that a Company incorporated for a lawful purpose by 7 or more persons.
