ICSI CSEET syllabus for November 2021

In the exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of subsection (2) of Section 15 of the Company Secretaries Act, 1980, as amended by the Company Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 2006, read with Regulation 20(1)(ii) of the Company Secretaries (Amendment) Regulations, the Council of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India has approved the syllabus for the Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET).

 

Except for a few types of candidates who are exempted, all candidates must pass the CS Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) in order to apply for the CS Executive Program, which began on February 3, 2020. New Foundation Program registration is no longer possible due to the adoption of CSEET.

 

The CSEET 2021 exam consists of four main papers. The papers are based on the CSEET 2021 syllabus’s units and subsequent topics. Candidates who meet the CSEET eligibility criteria 2021 must study the entire CSEET 2021 syllabus in order to be considered for the exam.

 

The Syllabus of CSEET shall comprise 4 papers and therefore the nomenclature of the papers is as under:

Paper 1 – Business Communication

Paper 2 – Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning

Paper 3 – Economic and Business Environment

Paper 4 – Current Affairs

Paper – 1 Business Communication (50 marks)

1. Essentials of Good English

  • Common errors in English
  • Words with multiple meaning
  • One word substitution
  • Words frequently misspelled
  • Homophones
  • Idioms and phrases
  • Proverbs
  • Abbreviations
  • Para jumbles
  • Sentence completion
  • Sentence arrangement

2. Communication

  • Means of Communication- Written, Oral, Visual, Audiovisual

  • Business Communication- Principles and Process

3.Business Correspondence

  • Business Letters – Its Essentials, Parts, Types, Salutations
  • Positive Messages, Negative Messages, and Persuasive Messages
  • Business Reports, Inter and Intra-departmental Communication- Office Orders, Office Circulars, Memorandum, Office Notes, Management Information System (MIS)
  • Concept of Web, Internet, and E-correspondence
  • Intranet- Benefit, and Purpose
  • Email – Features, Procedure to Write a Formal Email, Email Etiquettes

4.Common Business Terminologies
