CBSE Class 5 Science-Balanced Diet,Nutrients & Pyramid Of Food Chart

CBSE Class 5 Science-Balanced Diet, Nutrients & Pyramid Of Food Chart

The food that we eat is our diet. A Balanced Diet contains all the nutrients in the correct quantities. A meal containing small quantities of different vegetables is healthier than a meal with large quantities of food with a single vegetable. Think what would happen if your body does not get a particular nutrient at all?
A food pyramid tells us what to eat to make our diet a healthy one. The different colored stripes represent different food groups. The food items at the bottom of the pyramid are meant to be eaten in much greater quantity than those at the top of the pyramid of food chart.
The nutritional requirements of a person depending on age, gender, and the nature of work the person does. A young person doing manual work requires more energy than an old lady who generally stays indoors. So, the old’s lady requirement for carbohydrates is less than that of the person doing manual work. A person who works in the office and sits most of the time must eat less of fat and carbohydrates. So, different people have different dietary requirements.
A typical balanced diet for school children should include the following:
  • Rice, chapattis, whole wheat bread or maize in each meal.
  • Three servings of milk or equivalent amounts of curd, cheese, and other milk products in a day.
  • Plenty of seasonal fruits and vegetables each day.
  • Beans, peas, nut, eggs, small amounts of fish, and meat.
  • A little fat (oil and butter)
  • Six to eight glasses of fresh drinking water.

Bhakti Movement NCERT Class 12 History The Bhakti movement was an effort to achieve salvation and emancipation by devotion to God. In Hindi, the word bhakti refers to fervent devotion to God. This movement, which stressed a single-minded, ardent devotion to God, is seen as the most characteristic act of religious progress during the Middle Ages. In the 12th and 13th centuries, Kabir Das was a key figure in the Bhakti Movement. As a result of the movement, Kabir Das' poems and religious writings attained widespread fame. Kabir Das was raised up by a Muslim family. However, his religious beliefs were influenced by his Hindu teacher Ramananda, who regarded Rama as the highest God. The first Sikh guru and the founder of Sikhism was Guru Nanak. He vehemently opposed prejudice based on customs, rivalry, and caste in religion. Nanak was raised in a Hindu household and from an early age began to exhibit spiritual tendencies. He helped the indigent and underprivileged. His followers began r...
