What are the characteristics of matter?

Everything around us is made up of small particles known as matter, as we all know. These particles have a few distinguishing characteristics that we will discuss. These characteristics can be divided into two categories: physical and chemical.

Physical Properties of Matter
Matter's physical qualities are unrelated to its chemical properties. Let's have a look at a few of them now —

  2. Density, colour, hardness, melting and boiling points, and conductivity are all physical qualities.
