Static Awareness of Uttarakhand GK : Uttarakhand was formed on 9th November 2000 as the 27th State of India. It was carved out of Uttar Pradesh.

In January 2007, the name of the state was officially changed from Uttaranchal to Uttarakhand. The state has two regions namely Kumaon and Garhwal.

Chief Minister: Trivendra Singh Rawat

Governor: Dr. Krishna Kant Paul

High Court: High court of Uttarakhand, Nainital

International Borders: China (Tibet) in the North and Nepal in the East
