Pronouns Worksheet For Class 1
Definition: In a sentence, a pronoun is a word that typically takes the place of a noun. Pronouns can be used anywhere a noun can be and follow the same grammatical rules as nouns.
Example – Mohan is a good boy. He likes all subjects.
Here, the noun ‘Mohan’ gets replaced by the pronoun ‘He’ in the second sentence.
Pronouns enable us to speak clearly, with fewer awkward words, and in whole sentences. They avoid using proper nouns repeatedly, allowing for fluid and easy speaking. Pronouns frequently refer to a noun that is used in the sentence, but they must match the noun's number, point of view, and gender.
There are primarily four types of pronouns:
- Possessive pronouns
- Interrogative pronouns
- Personal pronouns
- Reflexive pronouns
