When used, crops can be divided into six categories: food, feed, fibre, Kharif, Rabi, and cash crops. Food crops, such fruits and vegetables, are grown for human use. Grain crops, including rice, wheat, and corn, are the most widely grown food crops worldwide.

What are Kharif crops?

The title "Kharif" implies fall in Arabic since the season corresponds with the start of either autumn or winter. Monsoon crops are another term for the Kharif crop because they are planted during the monsoon season.

The Kharif season differs in each state of the country, but it normally lasts from June through September. The farmers plant the crop around June and harvest it at the start of monsoon season. Kharif crops include rice, maize, bajra, ragi, soybean, groundnut, and cotton.
