Data Sufficiency Questions for Bank Po/Clerk Exam – SBI/RRB/IBPS/SSC

Data Sufficiency is usually asked in all banking exams & it is an important topic as minimum 3-5 questions are asked from this chapter. In these problems, 2 statements will be given out of which either statement I alone or statement II alone or none or both statements are necessary to answer the question. You have to choose your answer accordingly.
Let us look at some problems:

Q:1-5 Choose your answer as:
(1)  If the data given in statement I alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data given in statement II alone are not sufficient to answer the question.

(2)  If the data given in statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data given in statement I alone are not sufficient to answer the question.

(3)  If the data given either in statement I alone or given in statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question.

(4)  If the data given in both the statements I and II together are not sufficient to answer the question.

(5)  If the data given in both the statements I and II together are necessary to answer the question.

Q:1  On which day in April is A’s birthday?
  1. A was born exactly 28 years after his father was born.
  2. His father will be 55 years 4 months and 5 days on August 18 this year.

Q:2  Can Vinod retire from office X in Jan 2006, with full pension benefits?
  1. Vinod will complete 30 years of service in office X in April 2000 and desires to retire.
  2. As per office X rules, an employee has to complete minimum 30 years of service and attain the age of 60. Vinod has 3 years to complete the age of 60.

Q:3  A is in which direction with respect to B?
  1. C and D are in a straight line and D is to the south of A.
  2. B is to the south of C, which is to the north of A.

Q:4 Six friends A, B, C, D, E, and F are sitting around a circular table facing the center. Who sits second to the right of C?
  1. F and B sit opposite each other and E sits between B and D but not second to the left of F.
  2. C sits second to the right of D and D sits second to the right of E.

Q:5 How is L related to V?
  1. P has two children but has only one daughter. V is the son of S.
  2. K is daughter of L, who is mother of S and wife of P

Q: 6 Who among A, B, C, D, and E scores the highest in an examination?
  1. B scores as many marks as A, who score eight marks more than C.
  2. D does not score the highest marks in the examination but he scores 10 marks more than C
