PROBLEM ON MIXTURE AND ALLIGATION TYPE 1: USING WEIGHTED AVERAGE

PROBLEM ON MIXTURE AND ALLIGATION TYPE 1: USING WEIGHTED AVERAGE The concept of weighted average is useful when a different part of the group have the same property but the proportion of each part is different. In such a case, the proportion of each part to the whole has to be factored in while finding out the average value of the attribute or property. For instance, if a milkman mixes the 2 litres of milk costing Rs. 6 per litre and 1 litre of milk costing rs. 9 per litre, then the average cost the mixture to be calculated using weighted averages. Here the attribute is the cost and weight is the quantity of milk. Cost of mixture =  =  Rs.  7 per litre . Points to remember: If the equal weights of two equal types of milk are mixed, the price of the mixture will be Rs. 7.50. This can be calculated by finding the simple average. The attribute should all be of the same unit. Similarly, the weights should also be of the same Question 1.  A vessel is filled with liquid,

What Is Electric Potential? Online Notes for NCERT Physics Class 12

What Is Electric Potential? Online Notes for NCERT Physics Class 12 Electric Potential due to point charge: The electric potential created by a point charge Q, at a distance r from the charge (relative to the potential at infinity), can be shown to be V E  = 1*Q/4Пε0r. where ε0 is the dielectric constant (permittivity of vacuum). This is known as the Coulomb potential. The electric potential due to a system of point charges is equal to the sum of the point charges’ individual potentials. This fact simplifies calculations significantly since the addition of potential (scalar) fields is much easier than the addition of the electric (vector) fields. The equation given above for the electric potential (and all the equations used here) are in the forms required by SI units. In some other (less common) systems of units, such as CGS-Gaussian, many of these equations would be altered. UNITS FOR ELECTRIC POTENTIAL : The SI derived unit of electric potential is the volt (in ho

Shapes of Orbitals Online Class 11 Chemistry Notes

Shapes of Orbitals Online Class 11 Chemistry Notes The  p  Orbital The maximum value of  l  is  n  – 1,  so the only levels with  n  = 2 or higher have a  p  orbital. 2 p  orbital is closest to the nucleus. Unlike  s  orbitals,  p  orbitals have different spatial orientations. If  n  =2, the values of  l = 2-1 i.e. 1. So, the values of  m  will be -1, 0, +1, i.e. there are three values which suggest that there are three  p  orbitals because a  number of  m  values give the number of orbitals.  The  p  orbital has two regions or lobes of the high probability of finding electrons, one on either side of the nucleus.  This makes the orbital look like two pears joined together at their narrow ends. The whole arrangement appears like a dumb- bell.  The nucleus lies at the nodal plane of this dumbbell shaped orbital. The  s  Orbital An orbital with   l   = 0 (angular momentum quantum number, which describes the shape of an orbital) and thus,   m = 0 (a magnetic quantum numbe

CBSE Class 9th Science Notes - Animal Tissues – Nervous Tissue

CBSE Class 9th Science Notes - Animal Tissues – Nervous Tissue Nervous tissue  is the tissue which works in coordinating with the organs of the body by generating impulses. It is made up of special cells called as neurons. Each neuron consists of a cell body, which contains a nucleus, cytoplasm, called cyton, and elongated hair-like extensions, called dendrites. One of the dendrites, called the axon, is very long.  Nervous tissues are found in the brain, spinal cord, and nerves. 1) It consists of cell body which contains central nucleus and cytoplasm from which long thin hair like part arises called  dendrons. 2) The axon is a single, long, cylindrical structure that conducts electrical impulses away from neuron’s cell body. 3) The dendrons further branches into dendrites. The cells of the nervous tissue are highly specialized and the cells of this tissue are called nerve cells or  neurons . The Nervous tissue stimulates and transmits the stimulus very rapidly from

CS Executive – Industrial, Labor & General Law Disablement

CS Executive – Industrial, Labor & General Law Disablement What does disablement mean? The term disablement has not been defined under the Act but in general sense, the term Disablement is the state of being a disabled or the experience of becoming disabled. It is the state being dependent on the other person for your own tasks. The term disability can be referred to as impairment to the individual functionality and that can be a physical impairment, sensory impairment, chronic disease, mental illness or in any other form. There may be effects on body parts or on the acts of person’s participation in life. The disablement can be of many types and the worker’s health status defines the level of disability. It can either be Partial Disability or Total Disability. The Act has defined both the terms. By reading and understanding both the terms, the disablement can be defined as the act of losing the wage-earning capacity and depending on the nature or percentage of injury it
