IFRS Exam 2020 – CBT Exam

The Diploma in IFRS (DipIFR) Exam is to be conducted in December 2020 as Session Computed Based Exam (CBT Exam), which means, it will be held online at a designated centre assigned by ACCA UK.

The participants who wish to pursue a Diploma in IFRS will be looking forward to the exam in December and select the centres as per their convenience and availability of slots in the centre. It is advisable to book your slot early to avoid any sort of confusion and panic.

The DipIFR exam participants are going through a tough phase with the postponement of the exam in June 2020 and then its cancellation in Sep 2020.

There is another surprise that exams will now be conducted only via Computer through sessions CBT Exam, which is causing a dilemma among the people who wish to give this exam and achieve an ACCA Diploma in IFRS.

I am sharing the details about how it will be conducted under the new system.

For the past 10 years, I have been delivering lectures on International Financial Reporting Standards and have always used excel or spreadsheet as a medium to perform calculations for a Consolidated Statement of Financial Position question, but in the paper, we had to make use of pen and paper. This complicated the process of calculating and often proved tedious.

Thank god, that finally the way I have been performing calculations for doing a consolidation question has been included as part of the system, which I plan to share, by performing a calculation in the new format.

IFRS NEW EXAM SYSTEM IS AS FOLLOWS:

The DipIFR Exam consists of four questions of 25 marks each presented in a workspace.

A workspace is an area within the computer-based exam that contains all the questions, the question requirements, and the response options, within which, the participant is required to construct the responses.

All workspace response options will be marked. Each workspace contains introductory information about the question on the right-hand side of the screen.

The left-hand side of the screen lists a series of buttons under the headings Exhibits, Requirements, and Response Options. I have also mentioned some other details of IFRS exam below.

Exhibits

These contain the question scenario content broken down into sections or sources of information that the participant will need to answer the question requirement(s). An exhibit may be in the format of a spreadsheet or may contain text or images.

Response options

The participants are presented with one or more response options within which he/she has to construct the answer. Some questions may specify which response option one should use to answer the requirements, however, if this is not specified then according to the response option provided.

Requirements

These are the requirement(s) or questions the participant is expected to complete in the workspace provided in the IFRS exam.

Why is Hindi Day celebrated on 14 September?

Why is Hindi Day celebrated on 14 September? After independence, the Government of India set a goal to give an ideal form to the mother tongue of the country and set a target for grammar and orthography using the Devanagari script to bring standardization in writing. Subsequently, on September 14, 1949, the Constituent Assembly decided by a vote that Hindi would be the official language of India. To propagate the importance of this decision and to spread Hindi in every region, India is celebrating Hindi Day every year from 1953 to 14 September, at the request of Rashtrabhasha Prachar Samiti, Wardha. Apart from this, 14 September is also the birthday of Rajendra Singh, who worked tirelessly to make Hindi the official language of India. Hindi Day is observed every year on 14 September to mark the importance of the Hindi language in the country. The Hindi language is one of the oldest languages, which derives most of its academic vocabulary from the Sanskrit language written in the Deva
